ô      August 21st 2010   Normand J Audie Memorial Motorcycle Ride - Location: Five Points Shopping Center, 420 Alfred Street (Route 111), Biddeford, Maine  Hello all, The forecast for August 21st is looking wonderful.... SUNSHINE & Happiness.... riding weather! There were more than 300 motorcycles from all over Northern New England at last year's fund-raising memorial motorcycle ride. It was a great success. This year's ride is planned to be bigger and better. We will travel the same 50-mile route in about two hours - Including the Gorham bypass loop where you'll be able to circle around and see every other bike in the ride for yourself - a tremendous hit last year. All bikes are welcome!! You can also come over just to have breakfast or BBQ lunch; check out all the bikes; fellowship; enjoy the music; and support the cause.  The 2010 ride is Saturday, August 21st -- Registration starts at 7:00 a.m. and breakfast will be available then. Take-off will be promptly at 10:00 a.m. from Five Points Shopping Center , Biddeford , Maine . Don't be late! You can pre-register on-line for $10 at http://www.NormAudie.org/ride.htm  and then zip right into the line-up when you arrive on the day of the ride. Pre-registration on the website really streamlines the process and will make your experience much more enjoyable - no lines.... no waiting.... (There are also further details, directions, and a map, on the website.)  The ride will be police motorbike escorted again this year, so once you take off, your feet won't touch the ground again until you land two hours later. You'll be escorted through Saco , Buxton, Gorham, Scarborough , Old Orchard Beach , and Biddeford .  Please spread the word! Forward this e-mail to your friends.  Landing will be about 12:00 noon and the barbecue and music will already be going.  If you've never been on a group bike ride before, we pride ourselves in making the experience fun, safe, organized, and memorable. It's all about the riders....Please remember that, in addition to being a great time, this event is a fundraising effort to support the scholarship in Normand's name. He was tragically killed on his motorcycle by a drunk driver in 2006. The scholarship will help to maintain his memory. $6000 in scholarships has already been awarded as outlined on Normand's website. And more than $42,000 is in the fund for future awards. Our goal is $50,000, and the fund will support itself indefinitely. If you cannot make the ride, or would like to make an additional donation to the scholarship fund, it would be greatly appreciated! You can securely donate at http://www.NormAudie.org/scholarship.htm You can direct any questions or comments to ride@NormAudie.org   All proceeds go to Normand J Audie Scholarship Fund (501.c.3)

ô      September 11, 2010   The Families of Flight 93 in our search for a few good men and women to join us as riders and volunteers in support of Ride with the 40, an annual cross-country grass roots fund-raising ride and tribute, dedicated to the 40 heroic men and women who lost their lives on United Flight 93, on September 11, 2001. This historic ride will travel along I-80 following the intended flight path of Flight 93, starting September 2 with a kick-off event in Newark , NJ and ending on September 11 at San Francisco International.  Riders are invited to register as a “core rider” for any single or multiple legs, riding to complete the route in the honor of the 40.   We’re hoping that you’ll reach out to your chapter members, friends and community, and encourage them to get involved and help spread word!  I can't express enough how much we appreciate your assistance.   How people can help: Ride: Individuals can become involved in any leg of the ride, by signing up and registering thru www.ridewiththe40.org .  Our hopes are to get 40 "core", registered riders for each leg of the journey.  The basic website is currently live but more features, such as registration, and rider sponsorship, are due to go live in just over a week. Volunteer:  Become a ride captain or tail gunner in one of the nine cities to lend a hand on the ground with daily departures and arrivals, assisting with ride logistics, mechanical support or coordinating the rider teams to get rolling -- and roll safely.  Help coordinate with local law enforcement and businesses to help facilitate an enjoyable experience for all involved. Get the word out: Spread the news to your MC chapter members about the ride.  Share the news with your local communities-inviting them to get out, get involved and experience and share in this important event. I can send you our press kit which gives more insight into our current partnerships, including the AMA, but have provided links below to those files if you want to download them yourself.  I look forward to any input, insight or assistance you can provide.  Please feel free to contact any of our team for more information.
